Baseball Recap: Piedmont's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

It was a good run, but Piedmont unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Wednesday. They fell 11-7 to the South Stanly Rowdy Rebel Bulls. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rowdy Rebel Bulls this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-4 back in March.

Bryson Greene was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Colby Dawson was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.

Piedmont's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for South Stanly, their record is now 12-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Piedmont will venture away from home to square off against Forest Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Yellow Jackets have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.77 runs per game on average), something the Panthers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for South Stanly, they are taking a road trip to challenge North Stanly at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Comets will roll in looking for their 15th straight win, something the Rowdy Rebel Bulls surely won't give up without a fight.
