Basketball Recap: Tarpon Springs Spongers vs. Anclote Sharks
The Tarpon Springs Spongers had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They pulled ahead with a 52-51 photo finish over Anclote. This was payback for Tarpon Springs, who suffered a 67-51 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Geramyah Porter was his usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 20 points, ten rebounds, and ten steals. Porter is crushing the steal category: he's posted at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Jomar Encarnacion was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.
Tarpon Springs' victory bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Anclote, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-14.
Tarpon Springs will take on the Spartans at TBD on Tuesday. As for Anclote, they will be playing at home against the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Countryside is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road.
