Baseball Game Preview: American Leadership Academy-Johnston Patriots vs. South Garner Titans

The American Leadership Academy-Johnston Patriots will venture away from home to square off against the South Garner Titans at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. American Leadership Academy-Johnston is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

American Leadership Academy-Johnston had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Cape Hatteras on Saturday. American Leadership Academy-Johnston put the hurt on Cape Hatteras with a sharp 12-1 win.

Frank Henry looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit while striking out six over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Calvin Hooks was a standout: he scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. He also put up two hits, which were his first of the season. Gavin Jackson was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.

Henny Mejia was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordyn Rogers, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

American Leadership Academy-Johnston's victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-0. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.4 runs on average over those games. As for South Garner, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-2.
