Basketball Recap: Silverdale Academy Comes Up Short

Silverdale Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 58-46 to the Bradley Central Bears. While losing is never fun, the Seahawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 248th, while the Bears are ranked 75th).

Despite the defeat, Silverdale Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Parker Holland posted 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Holland has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Briggs Hoewischer, who put up eight points.

Silverdale Academy's loss dropped their record down to 6-14. As for Bradley Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Silverdale Academy and Collegedale Academy will face off at 7:39 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. As for Bradley Central, they will head out to face off against East Hamilton at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
