Basketball Game Preview: Owyhee Storm vs. Timberline Wolves

The Owyhee Storm will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the Timberline Wolves at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. Timberline took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Owyhee, who comes in off a win.

Owyhee picked up another tournament win on Saturday. They walked away with a 47-36 win over Vanden. Given the Storm's advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked second in Idaho, while the Vikings are ranked 61st in California), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Timberline played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Borah, falling 44-20. The contest marked the Wolves' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Owyhee's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Timberline, they now have a losing record at 4-5.

Owyhee barely slipped by Timberline in their previous meeting back in February, winning 58-57. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Timberline's Emmi Swillie, who went 9 for 16 on her way to 23 points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.
