After having lost a blowout in their previous game against West Forsyth, Davie was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They strolled past the Parkland Mustangs with points to spare, taking the game 38-22. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the War Eagles considering their ten-point performance the game before.
Davie found their leader in sophomore Elijah Chaffin, who made 20 total tackles (2.0 for loss). Braxton Bowling also set a new season high mark in rushing yards with 115.
Davie wouldn't let Parkland keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Davie can thank Corban O'Neil and Dylan Miller for forcing both of them. Chaffin was another major factor on D, making 20 total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Parkland lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Vernon Champion, who rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown. That's the most rushing yards Champion has posted since back in August.
With the win, Davie broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-6. As for Parkland, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.
