Basketball Recap: Jackline Nzainambaho Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Stratford

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Pearl-Cohn, LEAD Academy was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They skirted past the Stratford Spartans 57-54. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Panthers' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

LEAD Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jackline Nzainambaho, who posted 24 points and six steals. The dominant performance gave Nzainambaho a new career-high in points. Jada Pilate was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 19 points and nine boards.

When it comes to explaining why Stratford lost, don't look at Hannah Johnson. Despite the final result, she earned 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jamila Roper, who scored 12 points.

LEAD Academy's win bumped their record up to 5-13. As for Stratford, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 10-14.

Coming up, LEAD Academy will face off against East Nashville Magnet on Monday. East Nashville Magnet will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something LEAD Academy surely won't give up without a fight. Stratford does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
