Baseball Game Preview: Central Red Devils vs. Orono Riots

Central hasn't had much luck against Orono recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Red Devils will square off against the Riots at 4:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Central made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Mattanawcook, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Red Devils fell just short of the Lynx by a score of 7-5 on Wednesday.

George Stevens Academy hit Orono with a nine-run fifth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Riots came up short against the Eagles, falling 13-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Riots have suffered since May 27, 2025.

Central now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Orono, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.

Central suffered a grim 8-1 defeat to Orono when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Can the Red Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
