Football Recap: Warren Comes Up Short

Warren fell victim to Esperanza and their airtight defense on Friday. They were beaten by the Aztecs 34-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bears of the 34-20 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

It was another big night for Emma Gribben, who rushed for 31 yards and one score, and also picked up 74 receiving yards for Esperanza.

Warren has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for Esperanza, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-1.

Warren has already played their next game, a 25-12 defeat against JSerra Catholic on the 22nd. As for Esperanza, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 27-7 victory against El Modena on the 22nd.
