Softball Game Preview: Enterprise Hornets vs. Shasta Wolves

The Enterprise Hornets will take on the Shasta Wolves at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Shasta took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Enterprise, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with five losses in a row, Enterprise turned things around against Redding Christian on Thursday. They never let the Lions get on the board and left with a 20-0 win. The game marked the Hornets' most dominant victory of the season.

Bella Romero was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with five RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Ava Gonzalez was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.

Enterprise always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .868. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Shasta couldn't beat Foothill last Thursday even though they stacked four runs on them in the second inning. The Wolves came up short against the Cougars, falling 19-4. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Soleil Waterman was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Enterprise's record now sits at 3-9. As for Shasta, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 3-9.

Enterprise suffered a grim 11-1 defeat to Shasta in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Can the Hornets avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
