Basketball Recap: Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South Takes a Loss

After flying high against International High School at Largo last Tuesday, Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South came back down to earth. The Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South Tigers took a 66-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North Tigers on Thursday. Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South has struggled against Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

When it comes to explaining why Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South lost, don't look at Jordan Exton. Despite the final result, he posted 20 points. Noah Cross was another key player, putting up five points in addition to five assists and five rebounds.

Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Devin Thomas, who went 7 of 16 en route to 17 points and five assists. That's the most assists Thomas has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Yusuf Aulakh, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards.

Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-4.

Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South will be playing in front of their home fans against College Park Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Chesapeake Math & IT Academy South is facing College Park Academy at the right time seeing as College Park Academy is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North, they will take on Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.
