Basketball Game Preview: Laurel Gators vs. Streetsboro Rockets

The Laurel Gators will square off against the Streetsboro Rockets at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Laurel sitting on seven straight victories and Streetsboro on ten.

Laurel is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They enjoyed a cozy 59-43 win over Perry.

Canfield typically has all the answers at home, but on Wednesday Streetsboro proved too difficult a challenge. They snuck past the Cardinals with a 51-45 victory.

The win got Laurel back to even at 13-13. As for Streetsboro, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-3.

Everything went Laurel's way against Streetsboro when the teams last played back in March of 2024, as Laurel made off with a 53-32 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Laurel since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
