Baseball Recap: Polytech Takes a Loss

Polytech was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Cape Henlopen Vikings, falling 11-3. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 12-2 to the Vikings when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Polytech saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cameron Allen, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Allen has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Polytech's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Cape Henlopen, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 14-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Polytech will head out to face off against Laurel at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Cape Henlopen, they will venture away from home to square off against Conrad Science at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
