Basketball Recap: StoneBridge Cavaliers vs. Broadwater Academy Vikings
The StoneBridge Cavaliers came into Friday's matchup having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past Broadwater Academy 53-33. The victory was just what StoneBridge needed coming off of a 55-21 loss in their prior contest.
Tyler Thompson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 18 points along with six steals and five assists. Douglas Marshall was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Loss or not, Broadwater Academy got some senior leadership from Logan Hickman and Rufus Abbott. Hickman scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals, while Abbott. scored 12 points along with three steals. Hickman is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight.
StoneBridge's win bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Broadwater Academy, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-9.
StoneBridge's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. As for Broadwater Academy, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against the Seahawks at 2:00 p.m. on February 3rd.
