Volleyball Recap: Fairlawn Comes Up Short

Fairlawn extended their losing streak to seven on Thursday, dropping them down to 2-9. They lost 3-0 to the Jackson Center Tigers. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Jets of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Maddy Miller paced Fairlawn's offense, picking up ten kills. Miller got some help from Avah Roediger and her 19 assists.

As for Jackson Center, their victory bumped their record up to 3-8. They not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since August 16th (when they won 3-0).

Jackson Center's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Haidyn Bensman led the charge by getting nine digs and five aces. Those five aces gave Bensman a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Laynee Shields, who had 16 assists and four digs.

Fairlawn has already played their next matchup (against Ansonia), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Jackson Center, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-1 win against Lima Central Catholic on the 13th.
