Baseball Recap: Amphitheater Takes a Loss

Amphitheater was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 24th straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against the Rio Rico Hawks, falling 22-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 27-0 back in March.

Amphitheater saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Miguel Estrada, who scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-2. Estrada has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last four times he's played. Aiden Gracia Munoz also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.

Amphitheater's defeat dropped their record down to 0-10. As for Rio Rico, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Amphitheater will welcome Douglas at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Rio Rico, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Safford at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
