Softball Recap: Clinton Cougars vs. Brodhead Cardinals
It was a proper cat-fight when Clinton challenged Brodhead on Thursday. The Cougars fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 4-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Cougars in their meetings with the Cardinals: they've now lost seven in a row.
Clinton saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Keylee VanderPahl, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Clinton's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-4. As for Brodhead, their victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2.
