Basketball Game Preview: Calhan Bulldogs vs. The Colorado Springs School Kodiaks

The Calhan Bulldogs will host The Colorado Springs School Kodiaks at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Calhan's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while The Colorado Springs School has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.

On Saturday, Calhan didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Crowley County, but they still walked away with a 44-40 victory. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Chargers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Calhan found their leader in sophomore Fallyn Mallette, who posted six points and seven steals. Calhan is 4-1 when Mallette posts five or more steals, but 6-7 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylee Barnes, who earned two points along with eight assists and five steals.

Calhan smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in nine consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, The Colorado Springs School played a tough game last Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Miami-Yoder, falling 38-13. The Kodiaks were down 32-11 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

The Colorado Springs School's defeat dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Calhan, their victory bumped their record up to 10-8.

Everything came up roses for Calhan against The Colorado Springs School in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, as the squad secured a 45-6 win.
