Basketball Recap: Valley Has No Trouble Against El Capitan

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter and that's exactly how it played out for Valley on Wednesday. They strolled past the El Capitan Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 41-25. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Buffalos also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2024.

Despite the loss, El Capitan still got an impressive performance from Ruth Timpson, who almost dropped a double-double with 13 points and nine boards. That was a full 52% of the Eagles' points, marking the third time in a row Timpson has posted more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Samantha Hammon, who scored ten points and six rebounds.

Valley has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 51 points this season. As for El Capitan, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Valley will be playing in front of their home fans against Enterprise at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for El Capitan, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Greyhills Academy at 5:30 p.m. on the 9th.
