Soccer Game Preview: Gilmer vs. North Murray

The Gilmer Bobcats will take on the North Murray Mountaineers at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Gilmer has three straight victories, North Murray has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Gilmer's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They came out on top against Ringgold by a score of 2-0. The final result isn't all the surprising considering Gilmer's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 167th, while Ringgold are ranked 363rd).

Yenifer Lopez was the driving force of Gilmer's attack as she scored both of Gilmer's goals, bringing her season total up to 22 goals.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for North Murray's offense. They fell 2-0 to Murray County on Tuesday.

Gilmer's win bumped their record up to 9-5. As for North Murray, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.
