Wake Prep Academy dropped down to 4-3 on Friday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins. They had to suffer through a 52-20 loss at the hands of the Bunn Wildcats. The Guardians were down 38-12 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Despite the defeat, Wake Prep Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Landyn Roberts picked up 101 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and also rushed for 33 yards.

As for Bunn, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 39.2 points over those games.

Bunn's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Josiah Rice led the charge by throwing for 301 yards and five TDs on only 13 passes, while also rushing for 32 yards and one score. Those 32 rushing yards gave Rice a new career-high. Dj Smith also helped out as he racked up 116 receiving yards.

Coincidentally, Wake Prep Academy and Bunn will both be playing Nash Central the next time they take the field. The Wildcats will head out to face the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Guardians will host them at 7:00 p.m. on the 24th.
