Baseball Game Preview: Monroe Trojans vs. Woodhaven Warriors

The Monroe Trojans will challenge the Woodhaven Warriors on Wednesday.

Last Wednesday, neither Monroe nor Airport could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 0-0 tie.

Meanwhile, Woodhaven extended their postseason success on Saturday against Anderson. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over the Titans. Winning may never get old, but the Warriors sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Jace Davis was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dante Perry, who went 3-for-5 with one run and one RBI.

Monroe's draw makes their record 9-23-1 this season. As for Woodhaven, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 31-8-1.

Monroe beat Woodhaven 6-3 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Trojans repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
