Volleyball Game Preview: Eaglecrest Raptors vs. Mountain Vista Golden Eagles

The Eaglecrest Raptors will square off against the Mountain Vista Golden Eagles at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Eaglecrest sitting on three straight victories and Mountain Vista on 11.

Eaglecrest is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They came out on top against Discovery Canyon by a score of 3-1.

Eaglecrest had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 26-28, 25-16, 25-15, 25-13.

Meanwhile, Mountain Vista faced Valor Christian in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Golden Eagles blew past the Eagles 3-0.

Mountain Vista not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Valor Christian between 18 and 20 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-18, 25-19.

Mountain Vista pushed their record up to 24-2 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Eaglecrest, their victory bumped their record up to 22-4.

Eaglecrest suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Mountain Vista when the teams last played last Monday. Can the Raptors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
