Lutheran North gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Regina 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Mustangs have posted since April 25, 2024.

Elise Mantay spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Addison Wodowski was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Martin, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Having lost for the first time this season, Regina fell to 2-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Lutheran North beat Regina by a score of 6-3 later that day.
