Recap: Dominion Titans vs. Woodgrove Wolverines

The Dominion Titans's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their seventh straight loss. They suffered a rough 70-44 loss at the hands of Woodgrove. While losing is never fun, Dominion can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 368th, while Woodgrove is ranked 110th).

Woodgrove's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kenny Chicas led the charge by scoring 15 points. The game was Chicas' sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Hill, who scored 13 points.

Dominion's defeat was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-8. As for Woodgrove, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2.

Dominion will head out on the road to face off against Potomac Falls at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Potomac Falls knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past ten matches -- so hopefully Dominion likes a good challenge. Woodgrove won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Briar Woods at 7:15 p.m. on January 4th. Hopefully Briar Woods focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Tuesday.
