While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was Grand Island who was credited with the victory on Saturday. Grand Island got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to the Omaha Central Eagles's three. This was payback for Grand Island, who suffered a 3-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Cristian Hernandez and Cody Garret scored both of Grand Island's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.
