Softball Game Preview: Pettus Eagles vs. Kenedy Lions

Pettus is on a five-game streak of home losses, and Kenedy a four-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Friday. The Pettus Eagles will be playing at home against the Kenedy Lions at 6:00 p.m. Pettus has given up an average of 19 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Pettus came up short against Skidmore-Tynan on Friday, falling 23-4.

Meanwhile, Kenedy came into Tuesday's matchup having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Refugio 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Lions have posted since March 4th.

Jaylen Rodriguez was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Riana Aguirre was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Kenedy's win bumped their record up to 15-10-1. As for Pettus, their loss dropped their record down to 1-15.
