Basketball Recap: South Gibson Comes Up Short

South Gibson suffered their biggest defeat since January 7th on Tuesday. They came up short against the Dyersburg Trojans, falling 65-43. The Hornets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Trojans earlier this season, when they won 52-40.

This is the second loss in a row for South Gibson and nudges their season record down to 18-12. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 18-8 Obion County (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 61.7% over those games). As for Dyersburg, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-11 record this season.

South Gibson has already played their next game, a 66-55 win against Obion County on the 27th. As for Dyersburg, they will square off against Bolton at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Dyersburg is facing Bolton at the right time seeing as Bolton is stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
