Trey Scheler and Co. Win Sixth in a Row

Cheyenne Wells picked up their sixth consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Trey Scheler. Scheler rushed for 188 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries. The performance marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in November of 2023. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 120 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Cheyenne Wells' victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Scheler and Cheyenne Wells will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Hanover at 1:00 p.m. on October 26th.

Tim Provost was a major factor in Cheraw's win over Wiley on Friday. Provost was dynamite, rushing for 88 yards and three touchdowns, while also picking up 52 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 65 yards.

On the year, Provost has caught 4 touchdowns while averaging 32.2 receiving yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after six games last season, he was only averaging 7.83 receiving yards per game.

Coleman Came Up Big in Granada's 48-6 Win

Maddox Coleman was a major factor in Granada's win over Walsh on Friday. Walsh had no answer to Coleman as he threw for 91 yards and two touchdowns.

If the past is any indication, Coleman could be in store for another big game when he takes on Kit Carson on Friday. When Coleman last faced the Wildcats back in October of 2023, he threw for 194 yards and four touchdowns while completing 80% of his passes, and also rushed for 73 yards and two touchdowns.

William Ledbetter Makes It Two for Cheraw

Another Cheraw player making an appearance on this list is William Ledbetter. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 118 rushing yards dating back to last season.

For the year, Ledbetter has run in 14 touchdowns while averaging 92 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after seven games last season, he was only averaging 14.43 rushing yards per game.

Alejandro Perez Turns in Season-Best Performance

Granada was led to victory by Alejandro Perez, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Perez rushed for 69 yards and two touchdowns, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.

For the year, Perez has run in 4 touchdowns while averaging 18 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging one rushing yard per game.
