Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Charlotte). They put the hurt on the Hickory Christian Academy Knights with a sharp 51-30 win on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Thunder in their matchups with the Knights: they've now won three in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Charlotte to victory, but perhaps none more so than Caroline Gidney, who posted ten points along with six rebounds and five steals. Mya Aitchison was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to seven boards and five assists.

South Charlotte was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Hickory Christian Academy's loss came despite strong showings from Cece Dechellis and Kara Whitford. Dechellis dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds, while Whitford had two points.

South Charlotte's win bumped their record up to 6-14. As for Hickory Christian Academy, their loss was their eighth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-13.

South Charlotte has already played their next contest, a 40-37 defeat against Surry HomeSchool on the 3rd. As for Hickory Christian Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-22 loss against University Christian on the 4th.
