Baseball Recap: Page County Takes a Loss

Page County fell victim to Madison County and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Mountaineers by a score of 1-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mountaineers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 7-5 back in April.

Page County saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caden Combs, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

This is the second loss in a row for Page County and nudges their season record down to 3-13. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games. As for Madison County, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Page County is set to challenge their familiar foe Strasburg at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Madison County will square off against rival Luray at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
