Softball Recap: Bucyrus Redmen vs. Upper Sandusky Rams
Bucyrus extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 5-7. They came up short against the Upper Sandusky Rams, falling 21-7. The Redmen were not able to make up for their loss to the Rams from their previous meeting back in May of 2025.
Bucyrus saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maci Messerschmidt, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Addison Weber was another, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.
As for Upper Sandusky, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 12-2. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by seven runs or more this season.
On Upper Sandusky's side, Kenslee Swavel looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
On the hitting side, Upper Sandusky got a massive performance out of Madison Hart, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and four RBI. Those four runs gave Hart a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Addy Johnson, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
Looking ahead, Bucyrus will head out on the road to square off against Lucas at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Upper Sandusky, they will challenge Liberty-Benton at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
