Football Recap: CTSA O Starts Season with Victory Against Texas Legacy

CTSA O took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Texas Legacy Lions as they made off with a 38-14 victory. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Outlaws just coasted through the last quarter.

Jamaar Spratley had a dynamite game, rushing for 59 yards and three scores on only seven carries, while also throwing for 53 yards and a pair of TDs. His longest rush was for an impressive 53 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Levi Westerfeld was another key player, gaining 83 total yards and a touchdown.

CTSA O didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Texas Legacy to a completion percentage of just 33.3%. The Outlaws weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 45.5%.

CTSA O didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Spratley.

Despite the loss, Texas Legacy still got an impressive performance from Wyatt Allen, who picked up 136 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

CTSA O didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 45-6 loss against Northside Lions Sports Association on the 6th. As for Texas Legacy, they have also already played their next contest, a 56-6 defeat against St. Andrew's on the 5th.
