Softball Recap: Four Straight Road Wins for Tonopah

Tonopah won against Mountain View Christian on Friday with 22 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. Tonopah blew past Mountain View Christian 22-9. The Muckers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matches by 13 runs or more this season.

Alyssa Maurer was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four stolen bases, and six RBI. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacy Kiersch, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

Tonopah was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.

Tonopah's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 20.3 runs over those games. As for Mountain View Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Tonopah will head out on the road to face off against Eureka at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. As for Mountain View Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sandy Valley at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sandy Valley has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 20.25 runs per game on average), something Mountain View Christian will no doubt try to take advantage of.
