Adrianna Smith made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. Those 14 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one double.
Smith wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Marley Morin, who went 1-for-4 with one triple.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for South Glens Falls, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They put the hurt on Queensbury with a sharp 14-6 win on Monday. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.
Like Broadalbin-Perth, South Glens Falls also got a great game from a two-way player: Isabelle Ames. On the mound, she pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Ames was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI.
In other batting news, South Glens Falls let Adrianna Mathusa and Sophia Kill run wild. Mathusa scored a run while going 1-for-3, while Kill scored two runs while going 1-for-1. Ava Kill was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances.
Broadalbin-Perth's record now sits at 2-0. As for South Glens Falls, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Broadalbin-Perth might still be hurting after the 16-4 loss they got from South Glens Falls when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Patriots avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
