Recap: Oak Ridge Trojans vs. Folsom Bulldogs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Oak Ridge Trojans can now relate to. They fell 34-27 to the Bulldogs on Friday. Oak Ridge lost against Folsom in their previous head to head back in September, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 42-21 score last time.

Several Trojans players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jadon Anderson, who picked up 174 receiving yards and a touchdown. Anderson was no stranger to the big play, cutting upfield for a catch that went for 60 yards. Another player making a difference was Joaquin Graves-Mercado, who threw for 270 yards and two touchdowns.

Even if they lost, Oak Ridge's defensive line still kept up the pressure with 13 sacks. It was a group effort, with three guys contributing.

Folsom found their leader in underclassman Ryder Lyons, who threw for 288 yards and three touchdowns while completing 73.1% of his passes, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. Jameson Powell was another key contributor, picking up 105 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Oak Ridge's loss dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Folsom, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 11-2.

Oak Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Folsom will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Pittsburg at 6:00 p.m. One thing working in Pittsburg's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last ten contests.
