Softball Recap: Johansen Vikings vs. Grace Davis Spartans

Johansen had lost six straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 2-16 to make it seven. They came up short against the Grace Davis Spartans, falling 14-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 15-7 on April 2nd.

Jocelyn Ibanez Soto was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

As for Grace Davis, the win snapped their losing streak at eight games and leaves them with a 5-15 record. They not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since February 13th (when they won 26-2).

On Grace Davis' side, Lilly A made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off 12 hits (and only one walk). A was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base.

In other batting news, Grace Davis got a massive performance out of Illiana C, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with five stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those five stolen bases gave C a new career-high. Liv S was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run.

As of now, neither Johansen nor Grace Davis have any future games scheduled.
