Basketball Recap: Penn Cambria Starts Season with Defeat on the Road

Penn Cambria had to start their season on the road on Monday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They fell 63-55 to the Westmont Hilltop Hilltoppers. The Panthers were probably out for revenge after losing 74-55 to them when the teams met back in February, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Brandon Rabish and Gavin Harrold certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Rabish posted 16 points and eight boards, while Harrold went 6 of 12 on his way to 12 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Rabish a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Semelsberger, who put up 11 points.

Westmont Hilltop pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.

Penn Cambria will venture away from home to challenge Bishop McCort at 7:15 p.m. on December 16th. As for Westmont Hilltop, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 70-60 victory against Central Cambria on the 14th.
