Volleyball Recap: Dorchester Academy Comes Up Short

Dorchester Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Cathedral Academy Generals. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Raiders of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Dorchester Academy wouldn't go down easily and took Cathedral Academy into a fifth set but they suffered a heartbreaking four-point loss. The match finished with set scores of 19-25, 25-9, 25-15, 21-25, 15-11.

Dorchester Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Cathedral Academy, they pushed their record up to 7-10 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Dorchester Academy will challenge Colleton Prep Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Cathedral Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Faith Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
