Football Recap: Christ the King Takes a Loss

After flying high against Mt. St. Michael Academy last Saturday, Christ the King came back down to earth. The Royals lost 23-0 to the John Carroll Patriots on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Royals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 263rd in New York, while the Patriots are ranked 53rd in Maryland).

The critical scores for John Carroll came from Tre Peace, Carson Shoffner, and Jake Van Metre.

Christ the King's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for John Carroll, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

Christ the King has already played their next contest, a 44-0 victory against Cardinal Spellman on the 19th. As for John Carroll, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 13-0 win against Severn School on the 19th.
