Soccer Game Preview: Madison County vs. Luray

The Madison County Mountaineers will venture away from home to take on the Luray Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.

On Friday, Madison County didn't have quite enough to beat Central Woodstock and fell 3-2. Madison County haven't had much luck with Central Woodstock recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last matchup, Luray made sure to put some goals up on the board against Stonewall Jackson on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Generals with a sharp 4-0 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for Luray's offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Madison County's loss dropped their record down to 5-5-1. As for Luray, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5-1.

Madison County was able to grind out a solid win over Luray when the teams last played on Tuesday, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mountaineers since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
