Mallard Creek had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 66-26 win over the Rocky River Ravens. The victory continues a trend for the Mavericks in their matchups with the Ravens: they've now won seven in a row.

Mallard Creek's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Kiara Anderson led the charge by putting up 16 points along with five boards and three steals. Anderson has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Jazmeen Stone was another key player, going 6-for-9 en route to 18 points.

Several Ravens players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Lundyn Spears, who posted 13 points. Another player making a difference was Jade Bell, who scored eight points.
