Recap: Cascade Cadets vs. Triton Central Tigers

The Cascade Cadets were the 41-38 winner over the Triton Central Tigers when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Cascade took a 55-39 bruising from Triton Central on Friday. While losing is never fun, Cascade can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 345th, while Triton Central is ranked 104th).

Despite the loss, Cascade still got an impressive performance from Connor Sanders, who scored 13 points along with five assists. Those five assists set a new season-high mark for him.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Triton Central to victory, but perhaps none more so than Eli Sego, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds. The game was Sego's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Silas Blair was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds.

Cascade bumped their record down to 1-4 with that defeat, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Triton Central, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cascade will face off against North Putnam at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North Putnam is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. Triton Central won't have much time to rest: their next game is against North Decatur at 7:30 p.m. on December 16th. North Decatur has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 332 points over their last five contests.
