Basketball Game Preview: Yoakum Bulldogs vs. Palacios Sharks

Yoakum is 8-2 against Palacios since November of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Yoakum Bulldogs will look to defend their home court against the Palacios Sharks at 6:15 p.m.

Last Friday, Yoakum was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 38-34 to Hallettsville. The Bulldogs haven't had much luck with the Brahmas recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Palacios). They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat Rice Consolidated 59-22. The Sharks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 22 points or more this season.

The victory (which was Palacios' third in a row) raised their record to 9-7. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.3 points per game. As for Yoakum, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.

Yoakum didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Palacios when the teams last played last Saturday, but they still walked away with a 54-50 win. Will Yoakum repeat their success, or does Palacios have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
