Basketball Game Preview: Dyersburg Trojans vs. Bolton Wildcats

The Dyersburg Trojans will square off against the Bolton Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Dyersburg will be strutting in after a victory while Bolton will be coming in after a loss.

Dyersburg's tournament run continued when they took on South Gibson on Tuesday. Dyersburg put the hurt on South Gibson with a sharp 65-43 win.

Meanwhile, Bolton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were outmatched by Fayette Ware and fell 81-50. While losing is never fun, Bolton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 210th, while Fayette Ware is ranked 21st).

Dyersburg will have to keep a close watch on Rahsad MacLin and Kylan Collins, a pair of players who had a big impact on Bolton's prior game. MacLin dropped a double-double with 30 points and ten boards, while Collins dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds. Collins is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season.

Dyersburg is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.5 points over those games. Bolton's loss dropped their record down to 10-16.

Dyersburg didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Bolton in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 58-53 victory.
