Soccer Game Preview: Jackson County vs. Habersham Central

The Jackson County Panthers are taking a road trip to take on the Habersham Central Raiders at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Jackson County will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Jackson County will bounce into Thursday's game after beating North Oconee, who they had gone 0-6 against in their six prior meetings. While the 2-2 score might suggest a draw, it was the Panthers who were credited with the victory on Tuesday. Jackson County got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to North Oconee's two. The win was all the more spectacular given Jackson County's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 65th, while North Oconee are ranked 16th).

Habersham Central will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one goal last Tuesday, then bounced right back against Seckinger on Friday. The Raiders never let the Jaguars get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. Considering Habersham Central have won eight contests by more than two goals this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Jackson County's record is now 9-4. As for Habersham Central, their record now sits at 10-2.
