Volleyball Game Preview: Von Steuben Panthers vs. Jones Eagles

The Von Steuben Panthers will head out to square off against the Jones Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Von Steuben is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.

Von Steuben's tournament run continued when they took on Nazareth Academy on Saturday. The Panthers fell just short of the Roadrunners by a score of 2-1.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Thursday. Jones fell 2-0 to Taft. Jones' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Jones was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-21.

Von Steuben's defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Jones, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.

Von Steuben couldn't quite get it done against Jones in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
