Basketball Recap: Hoover Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

Hoover hadn't done well against McKinley recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Hoover Vikings came out on top in a nail-biter against the McKinley Bulldogs, sneaking past 45-43. This was a revenge game for the Vikings: when they faced off against the Bulldogs back in December of 2024, they had to take a 45-32 loss.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ka'Myah Gisentaner, who posted ten points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Mya Taylor, who earned 18 points and three steals.

The win (which was Hoover's fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-6. As for McKinley, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-10.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hoover will face off against Twinsburg at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday. As for McKinley, they will take on Lake at 6:45 p.m. on January 22nd.
