Grove City fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Marysville on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Monarchs by a score of 6-5. The Greyhounds' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Grove City's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Marysville, they now have a winning record of 4-3-1.

Coincidentally, Grove City and Marysville will both be playing Mathews the next time they take the field. The Greyhounds will head out to face the Mustangs at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Monarchs will play them later in the day, at 4:00 p.m.
