Ascent Classical Academy skates past Vanguard Classical East with ease

The Ascent Classical Academy Guardians scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They really took it to Vanguard Classical East for the full four quarters, racking up a 59-24 victory at home. That 35 points margin sets a new team best for Ascent Classical Academy this season.
Leading Ascent Classical Academy to victory were Iain Embry and Liam Flanigan. Embry scored 15 points along with nine rebounds, while Flanigan dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Vann Rogers, who scored eight points along with two steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Ascent Classical Academy and bumps their season record up to 4-7. As for Vanguard Classical East, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ascent Classical Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Mile High Academy at 6:30 p.m. on February 7th. Vanguard Classical East will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Nederland at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
